The 20-20-20 rule states that when you work on a screen, once every 20 minutes, you should take your eyes off the screen and look at an object 20 feet away from you for 20 seconds.

This way, you can ensure that you are giving yourself breaks now and then when you are working with a screen.

Further, it is explained that there is no hard and fast rule about looking at an object precisely away from you, and it is advised to try to look at something far away from you.

Your eyes take 20 seconds to relax, so it’s important to keep your gaze on the far-away object for at least 20 seconds.
